One of the main sources of endocrine disrupting chemicals in women today is actually clothing. In terms of lingerie, I would say 80% of lingerie widely available is made out of polyester, nylon, spandex, or a combination of each. The bra and underwear industry is unregulated and full of harmful plastics and chemicals That are required to make these plastic textiles. Among them, chemicals like phthalates, antimony, BPA and certain Dyes/Finishing Agents/ additives Which are added during manufacturing to polyester and are known to have endocrine-disrupting properties.

Our body absorbs the chemicals that we place on it and underwear is something we’re wearing every day for the majority of the day…so the exposure really adds up.

These items, by definition, are placed directly on top of a woman’s most vulnerable, sensitive parts; DIRECTLY above where our estrogen receptors are.... so, yeah, if you’re getting your partner, or yourself, new lingerie for Valentine’s Day ( or any day) it doesn’t get less sexy than polyester

Luck luckily there are better options. Natural fibers, like organic cotton and silk are the way to go!! Here are 15 that I love! (
