I've been writing about BPA in clothing since 2017 — starting with two small studies out of China and Spain that found it in baby socks. Almost a decade later, the research (and the list of brands implicated) has only grown, and the industry still hasn't fixed the underlying problem.
This post is an update to something I've written about before, with the newest research and legal developments folded in — because this is no longer just a "socks" story. It now includes leggings, sports bras, athletic shirts, and shorts from some of the biggest names in activewear.
What is BPA, and why does it end up in clothing?
